My sister Megan (the one who is closer in age) was in for the weekend. I'm really glad she came to visit.
Thursday we went to a Pirates game. She hadn't ever seen the Pirates and they had a make up game from a rain out. It was a rainy day and they ended up losing, but we had fun! The game was close, there was a good amount of offense, and it went into extra innings. We tailgated beforehand and ended up sitting in the car waiting out the rain until we went into the game. PBJ and beer, yum yum!
On Friday, Jackie, Dave, Megan, and I went to Kennywood. East Winds had a concert in the evening and we got 4 free tickets each (including tickets for ourselves) to the park. It was REALLY crowded, which was surprising because it was raining in the morning. We got on all the coasters though, and had Potato Patch fries, among other things. (Megan's favorite was Dippin Dots I think.) Later, Dave's family was also there and they watched the concert too. We saw Dave's dad, step-mom, Darci, Damien, Heather, Larry, Beth, and Milo.
Saturday we slept in because we were exhausted from being so busy. Then we went to John and Aleta's house for a picnic/birthday celebration for both of them! That night we set off some legal fireworks in our backyard (some of the grass is black, haha) and Jackie, Steph, and Sara were over to watch that. I got the fire extinguisher out when I saw how close some of the fireworks were to the one bush in the back. We're getting landscaping done anyways, so if the bush had been burned down I wouldn't have cared but I didn't want to set the house on fire! LOL.
Then Sunday after an early lunch Megan headed home. We'll miss her- she's about to move to Savannah, GA, which is more than the 5 hour drive to Corning. It was nice for the last 3-4 years that she was closer, and able to spend a few weekends with us.
Dave's family is in Ohio right now but we'll see them this week/weekend, which should be a little fun. After that, I'm trying to get my other sister Allison out here for a weekend!
