I can't watch 3D movies- they have always made me sick. I also can't handle 3D video games, and both of those kind of stink. I can't play a lot of the games that are out and I'm not really crazy about this whole 3D tv thing.
I actually have physically thrown up from trying to play Wolfenstein 3D (years ago, when I first figured out I can't handle the 3D). It took me awhile to associate feeling sick with the game and I can't believe of all things that that game makes me sick.
When Avatar came out in the theater, we went to see it with some friends and about ten minutes or so in I remembered that I can't handle 3D but left the glasses on anyways. About an hour into the movie I headed to the bathroom. I was watching the movie after that with one eye closed until Dave said, "why don't you take off the glasses?" Duh!!! So it was an interesting way to watch the movie and was so much better when I saw it on Blu Ray on a regular tv.
Think Geek is a web site that has some (in my opinion) cool stuff. One thing I ran across was 2D glasses. I haven't used them yet to see if they work but the concept is that you can wear them and see the screen in 2D without the fuzziness of the picture. It filters the 3D image back to 2D.
Don't they look amazing? Haha.
I will say, one perk to not being able to handle 3D (so far) is that we go to the 2D showing- it's less crowded and less expensive. I'll still opt for the 2D showing unless we're with friends or something and I'm assuming these would also work with a 3D tv (unless it's fine to watch 3D on the tv without glasses- I haven't tried yet).

That's interesting about 3D. I'm not sure I know of anyone else saying that. I do know a friend that once HD TVs came out, some of the shows would make her sick. We watched this one PBS show that in a few scenes it was like you were flying through the air looking at a waterfall and that made her sick.
