December/Year End Exercise Totals

I made my goal of 550 miles on the bicycle, but barely. I'm definitely tiring down and the first few months of next year are going to be pretty tame exercise-wise for me.  I'm just hoping starting in March that I can get back into a groove, get in shape, and lose some of this baby weight I've gained. :)

October: 43.7
November: 51.3
December: 34.7
2012 total: 564.7

Biking totals
2012: 564.7 miles

Running totals
2012: 278.7 miles
2011: 279.04 miles

On the running totals- since I started Couch to 5K in 2011, that total includes walking with the running (in intervals) where in 2012 I tried to break it out more and was running straight more so there isn't much walking in there if any. I'm surprised, honestly, at how close I was to the same mileage for both years. 2011 is when I started running. 2012 was looking good until I got pregnant. ;) And biking, 2012 was the first year I have kept track at all.

  1. I'm impressed with your totals. I'm going to keep track of my miles on a Bike now. I might do exercise bike totals like you. I write down my totals but don't add them up. I used to have a notebook by the exercise bike. I would write down my distance at 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, 10 min, and well random minutes. If I planned to do 10 minutes I sure made sure I caught the 10 minute mark so then I could make sure I went faster the second half. I always wanted to keep covering more.

(you should edit this post to throw in a picture from April in Erie when you were running. Also you should have Dave take a pic of you on the exercise bike someday so you can include that in one of your posts.)

    1. When I bike, I usually watch tv (all my miles were on my exercise bike although when I go bike for real I'll probably start using my Garmin and track that as well). But I pay attention the miles. My bike progresses through a screen and it takes 30 seconds to get through all the items on it. I usually try to alternate between .1 miles and .2 miles every 30 seconds. I've been able, for the most part, to even keep that up with pregnancy although it's definitely harder.

I'll have to see about throwing in a picture later. And no pictures on the bike now but maybe in a few months. :)

    2. That seems like a fancy bike.

I thought it'd be nice to have a pic of you biking while pregnant. You don't have to share it but I think later you might like it.

    3. Too bad I didn't listen to what I said I'd do. I wish I kept track of exercise bike miles.
