Disney Cruise - Day 2

The 2nd day of our trip we were docked in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. We chose an excursion called "See and Sea" where we started out on a boat with windows in the bottom (reminded me of that old ride at Disney World, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea). After that we went on a bus tour of Nassau that included a stop at Fort Fincastle. After the excursion we had some local food and shopped a little bit. We brought back some DELICIOUS rum cakes. And of course a couple of bottles of rum.

We also got some time in the nursery and had some alone/date/no baby time in the evening. We went to a few bars, including the Skyline bar, where the "windows" show a city skyline that changes to a different city every 15 minutes. I of course had to stay long enough to see all 6 cities. It wasn't as big as it looked in videos we had seen before the cruise but it was still nice. Then we went to the Champagne themed bar called Pink. We went back to get Neil and at 11:30pm he was still awake! Guess the nursery was too exciting for him. And for that reason we decided we needed to have him in the stateroom each night so he would get enough sleep. He's really cranky if he doesn't sleep enough.
I think we got our money's worth (and we only had to pay taxes for Neil) just from Neil eating alone.
Waiting to head out on our excursion
A really good view of our ship from the boat taking us on the excursion
Looking out the glass (it was really hard to see the fish with the camera because of the way it was focusing)
Neil definitely enjoyed this
And then fell asleep in my arms. (Side note: I nursed him on this boat. Interesting to do.)
The tour guide on the boat that took us from place to place took everyone's pictures
and called Neil Sleeping Beauty
On the "see" part of the excursion (bus)
At the top of Fort Fincastle
Another family shot
Enjoying some Bahamian beer at a local restaurant in Nassau
On our way back to the ship
We decided to let Neil have some desserts a few nights.
I think he really enjoyed this strawberry shortcake. What a mess.
They turn down the beds, put chocolates on them, and we had a towel animal each night.

  1. I went to Nassau with my mom when I was 18. We stayed there for a week, and it was so beautiful. Looks like you guys had fun there. I really like all the family pictures, and Neil is so so cute sleeping on you!

    1. Thanks Julie!

I'd really like to go back someday. So being there an entire week, was it a lot of beach time? Did you go to a resort?

This was actually my first time in the Bahamas.
