Saturday we went to an Easter Egg hunt at a local church. They had a little children's message, which I was excited about, but I thought it was over most of their heads. They also had egg hunts divided by age. It was VERY crowded and some kids didn't get any eggs. I felt bad about how many Neil got and then saw some of the other kids with baskets FULL of eggs. I don't know what's wrong with parents; we need to teach our children to share and think of others as well as themselves. Neil seemed to have fun- we let him get some of his own eggs and tried to make sure other kids got in there as well. He was in the preschool (4 and under) group and the hunt was inside. It ended up being a beautiful day but early on it was super windy, which is part of the reason we decided to go with this one over the one our community put on. Oh and one negative comment- they had hard candy in these eggs! So most of the candy in there, Neil couldn't eat anyways. (There was candy such as jolly ranchers and even a fireball.)

| I wore Nathan in the ring sling and he slept the entire time. I had to nurse him in the car afterwards though. I knew he'd be hungry. |

| Neil's "loot", he just loved the eggs and didn't really care what was inside. |

All the hunts I went to said to only get 8 eggs or 12 (depending on which hunt it was) and that was how many we filled first. but at the 2nd one after so long where everyone had their number they said kids could get more. We had to drop the eggs off early so I think some people didn't show. We counted to make sure Ella didn't have too many. At the first hunt Ella got 3 because she didn't want to hunt and wanted to use the swings that were now free. But after some mom had like 3 dozen in her sons basket and gave me some. I said she could give me empty ones and I just wanted the eggs so I could use them for the next hunt and didn't have to buy more.
ReplyDeleteLots of the candy Ella couldn't eat but then she learned chocolate was in there and would bite right thought he foil and have foil and chocolate in her mouth. At least she could have chocolate. Some other snacks she couldn't have. Also stickers she tried to eat.
At least you are still doing stuff for Neil.
Ella never liked her ring sling but I still have it for another kid. I also have a bjorn and ergo and moby. the moby is brand new and I ordered it and got scared and never used it. The ergo was free from a neighbor and my favorite. I wore ella on my back for 10 min the other day just so i could get some stuff down around the house with 2 hands.
Yeah this one wasn't super organize (the Easter Egg hunt) and it was so crowded that I don't think all the kids even got in the area. There was a really small opening. I stood outside and let Dave go in with Neil. I did feel really bad for some of the other kids.
DeleteI love the ring sling, I have been using it to take Nathan shopping as well. I don't know what makes some kids love them and others hate them.
I think ella not liking to frog her legs was a big reason for not liking the slug. Another reason she was always hot so she didn't want all that fabric
