Pirates game number two

While we were visiting Pittsburgh we made it to 2 games. The 2nd one we were in club level and it was a day game. It was surprisingly crowded for being a day game during the week while school was still in session. We were glad to be in the club level; it was pretty warm out, and especially Nathan wasn't ready for being out in the sun very long. We can't use sunscreen on him and trying to cover him up just made him hot. So I ended up inside with him a lot of the game. We also of course made an effort to see the Pirate Parrot and the Perogies, for Neil.

First Pirates Game

We went to two Pirates games while we were in Pittsburgh- one on a Saturday and the other a day game during the week, which will be a separate post because I took so many pictures.

The Saturday game was Nathan's first time at a Pirates game (or at a professional sporting event).

It was a bobblehead night.
Now that Neil is 2 he has to have his own ticket and he got his own bobblehead too.

This kid really wants his head to the side when he sleeps

Neil loves the Pirate Parrot but now he won't go up to him by himself anymore.

Our view from our seats, which were really nice!

More family selfie attempts

That's a perogie in Neil's hand.

A little blurry but he loves to stick his tongue out

Pittsburgh Zoo

We made it back to the Pittsburgh zoo, one last time (probably) with our membership. (Here is one of the first times we took Neil.) We went as soon as it opened and managed to make it halfway through before the crowds started. I thought during the school year during the week it would be pretty dead but they had a TON of school groups and buses. It was kind of crazy. This just proves again why I like to go when museums, etc. open. Beat the rush.

Look at the tiger, mommy!

I need to find a picture but I had this same shirt on the first time we took Neil to the zoo,
with the same hat on him and wearing him in the same ring sling.
I could only find a post of the 2nd time we went, which is linked at the top of this post.

Neil really loves the elephants

The polar bear came right up to us! (And then so did the crowd)

We ended our trip with the petting zoo.

Mother's Day 2015

On Mother's Day we went to a new park that's pretty big and has a nice round flat loop for running. I said to Dave it's too bad I can't take the kids to the park and let them play while I run. Someday? The sun was pretty bright and we didn't want the whole family to burn so we went to the library for a little bit. After that we went out to eat at a new restaurant that had good food and lots of craft beer. I think we found another new place to eat. All in all, a nice relaxing mother's day. Just what I needed.

As we were walking to the car to head to the library, the ice cream truck pulled up.
Talk about timing. We had to get ice cream of course.

TMNT! While this was cool I need to remember these are sherbet, not ice cream.
So next time I should just get the plain ice cream for Neil. I'm not sure he really liked this.
