Back home and decorating the driveway for Halloween

We went trick or treating twice; first on October 30th at a mall near us. Neil didn't want to get in his costume but also didn't want to go home so I forced the costume on (maybe a bad parenting moment, I guess I should have dragged him screaming out the door instead of forcing the costume on). But once he had the costume on he really enjoyed it and then screamed about taking the costume back off.

We went to some houses on our street on Halloween itself. We live close to a cul de sac and the neighbors there have an annual get together- they bring food and hand out candy outside their houses. So this year we headed down to hand out candy with them. It was a lot of fun. I took Neil but he only made it partway up the street before he seemed tired. At least this time he seemed to enjoy wearing the costume and attention, and we saw some kids come around from daycare, which he was really excited about. It was rainy out but that didn't seem to bother Neil, although he usually complains about rain (and also wind). His hands were freezing so at one point I ran back to our house to grab a pair of mittens. And the neighbors let him drive around a lawn mower when he started to get a little bored.

Saturday night Dave and I went to a Penguins game - the babysitter was in to watch Neil. We are hoping to get him to a game soon but the evening ones are just too late for him at this point. (We took Neil to Chick Fil A earlier in the day before he had a haircut with me at my salon.)
