Kids Karnival

We went to the Kids Karnival, which was close to our house. It was to raise money for the Subbase Youth Center.

In order to ride you had to be 36" and thankfully Neil just barely was. We didn't know that before actually going. To get in, in general, there was a $3 per person fee. We had a coupon for $1 off and kids 2 and under were free so we only had to pay $4. They had a bunch of rides, some games, and food booths. They also had an area inside with things like a reptile show (we caught the beginning of one of those but I didn't take any pictures) and vendors such as Tastefully Simple, Mary Kay, Thirty-One, etc.

We bought Dave and Neil wrist bands to ride rides. There were about 5 rides that Neil could ride by himself and more that Neil could ride if Dave went with him.
When he went on the Pirate ship, he liked it at first and then was scared so we didn't let him go on some of the others he could have with Dave. We thought he was too young for them, especially based on the Pirate ship.
They also went in a fun house (no pictures) and that was fine until they go to the end where they had to take a slide from the 2nd story down to the exit. Neil wouldn't go even though I stood at the bottom, so Dave had to take him back through backwards.

Here are some pictures from the rides. Neil really loved riding them. This was a huge change from last year where he was hesitant to go on them. Dave still had to walk on to help him get on and buckled in, but for the most part he also stayed put and we didn't have to keep telling him to sit down (although we did on the helicopter ride, which didn't have any restraints at all).

    1. Yep! I'm glad Neil is starting to really like to ride the rides. Last year he was still tentative.

  2. Ella gets scared on slides. She likes it when parks have 2 slides side by side and if she rides next to someone she is good to go. I'm glad he got to ride.

    You are doing so much!

    1. I'm trying to maximize my time on maternity leave- the weather is beautiful. That's one thing I regretted with Neil; I holed up in the house a lot during maternity leave. But it's going a LOT faster this time.
