The closest zoo is in Providence, about 45 minutes to an hour away. It's smaller than the Pittsburgh Zoo but Neil liked it. We only saw a part of it because he was already tired and we ended up leaving so he could nap. We'll have to go back sometime. They also have a reciprocal pass with Pittsburgh Zoo so we were able to use our membership to get half off our price of admission. (Neil and Nathan were both free.)

We didn't think to bring a stroller since I was going to babywear Nathan but really needed a stroller for Neil.

I think we made it to about half the zoo before Neil was so tired it wasn't manageable anymore. I wish he had slept on the way but he's getting harder to force a nap on, so we now have to start factoring that into trips. He did fall asleep right away on the way home but then Nathan woke him up screaming and we actually had two screaming kids in the back of the car. I'm glad Dave was driving; I wouldn't be able to handle that!
I miss the Pittsburgh Zoo but this one wasn't bad and we really need to see the rest of it to completely compare. Neil was excited because he got to see the elephants, which seem to be his favorite at the moment.
We still haven't been to the zoo around here. Neil seems like he enjoys things.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see a ninja turtle shirt so it's like he really does like them. Does he have a favorite? I forget which one is on the shirt I made for him. I'll have to dig up a picture because now I'm curious.
You mean a favorite turtle? Nope. He seems to like the color blue though so I'd say Leonardo? But he doesn't have a preference.

ReplyDeleteI need to write these when I'm in a better mood haha. It was still a good day. I tend to blog in a rush now hoping that Nathan will sleep for a bit. He has a sense though and tends to start crying and wanting to eat as soon as I get on the computer.
