We went to a local carnival. Neil seemed to like this more than he liked Kennywood. Go figure. Even though he's under 2 we had to pay for him to ride the rides but he could ride a good number of the rides (one of us had to go on as well though and pay for both us and Neil). The attendants at the games were really annoying- wouldn't leave you alone as you walked by. I felt bad but after a few minutes I acted like I didn't even hear them.
We had a playdate on Saturday with a good friend of mine and her daughter who is almost a year older than Neil.
Dave and I went on date night! Our first REAL date in a loooong time. We've had a babysitter in but usually for things like a beer dinner with some friends, etc. This was just us. And a late night, which doesn't happen for me anymore, especially with how early I get up for work and the fact that Neil gets up the same time every morning.

ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favorite bibs. That and we have a Marvel one that looks very similar. :) Buttons on bibs are awesome. (Neil takes his off all the time and has a harder time ripping it off if it's buttoned.)
DeleteWe gave up on bibs about a year ago when Parker kept throwing a fit and tearing them off every time. Luckily he's not too messy anymore, but he still has his moments sometimes.

DeleteIs "long time" for our date more than 7 months? Dave and I went out to dinner before Ella which could be a date. We did go out to lunch one time without Ella in 7 months. It was a 2 PM lunch so that I could feed her, get her to sleep, and then leave.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what "long time" is. I can't even remember. Anytime I can think that we've had a babysitter in, it's been for something specific and with other people. We actually had a 2nd date this past Saturday- we went to the movies. I think it's really important to get out together and remember who you are as a couple but I also know it can be really, really hard to do it. Not to mention with Neil being in daycare I have to admit I feel a lot of guilt about that and not seeing Neil, so sometimes it's hard to leave him at home with a babysitter instead of spending time with him when I can.
DeleteDave and I hang out a couple hours together at night after Ella goes to sleep but lately I've been staying up too late and getting really tired. Oops.
