Train Bash

We went to a train bash (similar to a gun bash) where you buy a ticket to get in that has numbers and they draw numbers to win trains. They also sell for tables that have different trains. They had a table of trains you could win based on the amount you spent to buy the ticket- $1, $2, $3, and $5. There was a Frosty train on the $2 table that I REALLY wanted but we never won anything and someone who won did take it. Anything that was left over at the end they sold and gave amazing deals on those. We actually walked away with an HO Thomas the Tank Engine train set for less than half the listed MSRP.

They had a good spread of food including desserts, all included in the price.
We bought one ticket and all 3 of us ate with that ticket.

Checking to see if we won on one of the $1 tickets.
Santa also made an appearance, much to Neil's delight. I can't believe he still is okay with Santa. In fact, he sat right in his lap and gave him a hug.

They also had a crafts table that I took Neil to a few times, with paint, ornaments to decorate, lots of glitter (Neil got a bath for sure that night), etc. And there was a train display set up as well that Neil loved watching.

    1. At what age do they usually get scared? Is that still something that might happen or are we past it? Any idea?

    2. I think it definitely depends on the personality of the child. Parker cried when we took him his first time. I think that was around 19 months, so a little younger than Neil. The second time went much better, as well as the third. But he's still hesitant. Definitely wouldn't dream of giving Santa a hug, even today!

    3. It might be better to be more hesitant though. The Santa concept is actually a bit creepy...
