10 weeks

How many weeks: 10 (8/26/14)

Size of baby:
A prune and measures a little over an inch (2.5-3cm). Weighs about 1/4 of an ounce

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Down 4.5 pounds overall. I gained 0.5 pounds in the past week.

Maternity Clothes: Nope. Not even close yet.

Sleep: I'm not noticing a lot of difference from pre-pregnancy to now.

What I miss: Beer haha. I've been stressed out especially at work and a nice cold beer sitting on a deck at a restaurant just sounds good right now.

Cravings: None.

Aversions: I've been feeling more nauseous and seem to only want junk food. I wouldn't call this really cravings or aversions.

Symptoms: My gums are bleeding- Neil hit his head on my face once, and that made them bleed. I've been extremely light headed and feeling nauseous this week although not actually puking.

Best moment this week: Taking Neil to Idlewild Park. Pregnancy related I got my doppler back from a friend who had borrowed it and got the heartbeat VERY easily at 9 weeks and 1 day. However, I couldn't find it after that but the baby is pretty small.

Looking forward to: Being able to hear the baby's heartbeat on a doppler at my appointment, which is today but after writing this post.

Same this time: The 10 week milestone will always be huge for me. (I'm saying that like we want to have kids- the plan is 2 and done.) As we got closer I just got more and more nervous even though I had no reason to be.

Different from last time: It is a lot harder dealing with a toddler. I'm not sure if I should be carrying him but I am. He's already beating up his younger sibling and actually has kicked me right in the stomach a few times (not meaning to). Neil can be pretty rough, unintentionally, and I keep asking him to be gentle. He definitely has no clue that I am pregnant or a baby is on the way.

  1. Kids are rough. I'd assume every mom is carrying their toddler if they have one but who knows. I'm really worried about being lightheaded while having a toddler. I was so bad last time.

    1. I've been really lightheaded but honestly haven't had a problem carrying Neil. I can at least set him down if I need to. He'll get upset but he can deal. But so far I haven't gotten lightheaded while holding him. For me it's usually when I stand up or something like that so at least I can take a minute to pause and feel better before actually picking him up or something.

    2. Last time just sitting there is get lightheaded. I couldn't sit at a computer for 30 minutes even. And sitting on that couch was not a recovery and was too much effort. I actually had to lie down.
