How many weeks: 11 (9/2/14)
Size of baby: A lime and measures a 1.5-2 inches. Weighs about 8 grams.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Down 6.5 pounds overall. I lost 2 pounds in the past week.
Maternity Clothes: Nope and last time I didn't start wearing them until 20 weeks. I'm hoping I can last that long this time although I know my muscles are already stretched so we'll see! I told Dave I'm losing weight and getting comments (surprisingly) but I have a tire around my middle. I seem to be losing weight in my lower stomach but it's not moving from my middle stomach. Very weird haha.
Sleep: I'm actually having trouble sleeping but I think it's just overall stress. Although I am starting to sack out easily on the couch, I just have trouble actually staying asleep.
What I miss: Not really much.
Cravings: None.
Aversions: I don't have specific aversions although I often don't want to eat whatever I'm making for dinner.
Symptoms: I'm feeling really light headed at times and just overall tired and worn down.
Best moment this week: At 10 weeks I had my first "real" appointment at the midwife center. And they found the heartbeat. This one is a huge milestone for me and I couldn't help it, I started getting nervous the closer I got to the appointment. It took her a little bit to find it but she did and I let out a huge breath.
Looking forward to: I am advanced maternal age (OUCH) so I qualify for this new blood test that is more accurate for genetic testing than the NT scan. I took the test and will get the results back in about a week or so- I've heard from others it's about 10 days but the midwife center said a week. Not only will I find out genetics but we'll find out boy/girl!!!! The test is actually scheduled for today.
Same this time: I made an excel spreadsheet charting my weight last time vs. this time. It was a bit hard because I made my pre-pregnancy weight last time less than it should have been. (One of the first indications I was pregnant was actually that I dropped a lot of weight, which I had blamed on running the Pittsburgh half marathon.) But I actually tracked my weight weekly then so I was able to use my pre-pregnancy weight instead of what I have listed on my blog posts. Even though I started out at a higher pre-pregnancy weight this time by about 4 pounds, I'm tracking very similar with the weight change this time. I've lost slightly more weight this time but within a pound of the same. I do love numbers (why I'm an engineer) so this might be fun to watch and see how it's the same. Last time I hit my lowest weight at week 14 and held steady until about week 17 (got back up to pre-pregnancy weight week 19). I have a feeling I won't be that good this time but we'll see.
Different from last time: For the moment I might be repetitive about dealing with a toddler who doesn't understand why mommy is so tired and doesn't want to play. Just because I mentioned it last week, I did ask at my appointment and I am ok to carry Neil although if I have any pain, etc. I should put him down. They told me I can carry him up to 35 pounds and he's not even 25 pounds yet so I don't think this will be a problem for me. And he can be rough but they said him kicking my stomach isn't really that hard (not the same as, say, an adult kicking me) so although it's not encouraged obviously, it's not something I should stress over. (I do continue to tell him to be gentle, not kick, etc. but there is only so much I can try to do to keep him from doing this stuff.)
One other thing that's different is that I'm forgetting I'm pregnant. Just the other day Dave and I were in Burger King and a pregnant woman walked in. Dave made a comments about a pregnant woman already being in the restaurant and I asked who (he was talking about me). Last time I was very aware all the time that I was pregnant and I do tend to forget now.
I didn't know about the 35 pound rule. That's interesting. Parker weighs 42 pounds right now. Looks like I'm not carrying him next time!
ReplyDeleteI had already forgotten if it was 25 or 35. I think it's best to ask your doctor because I'm guessing opinions vary but yep this is what I was told! It means I'm fine unless they restrict it more later in the pregnancy. Because Neil still wants to be carried a lot. Maybe that counts as exercise?!
Deleteyay spreadsheets.
ReplyDeleteI knew you would like that. I can always share with you if you're interested but I'm not making it public because it has my actual weight in it. I'm not admitting how much I weigh to anyone.
