We parked in a field and it was $7 admission per person (Neil was free). We went first into the barn to get some food. The food wasn't that great- hot dogs and hamburgers, and neither really tasted that good. They did have some homemade desserts though and apple cider, which is what I really wanted. And there was some stuff for sale- a bakery had a booth, as well as little pumpkins, some apples, corn stalks, etc. There were also some booths for face painting, a duck pond, paint a pumpkin, and spin art that were an additional charge. We let Neil do the duck pond for $1. Oh and it wasn't really going when we were there but they had a set up for live music. Neil was still dancing to the music that was playing though.
To get to the pumpkin patch you took a hayride (price included in admission). They had 3 tractors running so it was pretty efficient. If you didn't get on the one currently loading, the next one was pretty much right behind it. Pumpkins were an extra charge. But we got 2 and together they were $6 which we thought was extremely fair and reasonable. Neil LOVED walking through and touching all the pumpkins. Right now he is obsessed with pumpkins.

| Somewhat failed attempt at a selfie (my fault). Too bad I cut Neil off |
I took a LOT of pictures at the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful sunny day and we walked around quite a bit. We were far enough away that at times it felt like we were the only ones out there.
They had a corn maze as well but next time we'll need to do that first. We had pumpkins we didn't want to carry through the maze so we skipped that for this year. We waited in line and got on the 2nd tractor going back to the main area.
After we got back we realized Neil really smelled (and had pooped) so while Dave paid for the pumpkins I waited in line to change his diaper. They did have an inside bathroom with a changing pad for the kids but there was only one bathroom and the line got long enough at times that some women went into the men's room. I would have if I hadn't needed the changing table, which was only in the women's room. While waiting for Dave we wandered around and Neil wanted to go in the inflatable jump house thing. He keeps wanting to when we're out and see them but then backs off instead of getting in. He did the same this time but the attendant told me if we waited for the older kid to get out, that I could get in with Neil. So I literally dragged Neil in, figuring he would like it once he was in. He was tentative with just me in there- did jump a lot at first and then decided he just wanted to sit on my lap. But then some other kids came in as well (I tried to stay off to the side but kept an eye on Neil because he was so much smaller) and Neil got really excited about it. $1 well spent there and maybe now he'll go in those by himself!
There was also a fire truck so of course we went over there and we were allowed to get up and in the truck.

| Before the pumpkin patch, he ran for the roosters and was yelling "cock a doodle doo" |

Parker was the SAME way about inflatable bouncy things. Then suddenly he got brave and now he loves them. Must be the age. I love Neil's little sunglasses!!!
ReplyDeleteOh good I hope this will be the same with Neil! Neil hated the sunglasses until recently! We have a beach vacation coming up soon so hopefully he'll keep them on when we're there!
DeleteLove the pictures and description! I do remember one little gal who ran to the fence face to face with the pigs at Lollipop farm in Rochester before I could catch her!!
ReplyDeleteYeah I actually mentioned that to Dave. Didn't I also make noises like a pig?
DeleteThis seems so fun. It seems he enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYeah he really did. He's getting to a great age for things like this and if we do the more laid back ones he doesn't miss out on anything either! (This was also cheaper than a lot of the other ones in the area.)
