2014/2015 Resolutions

A year ago I made some resolutions for 2014 and wanted to see how I did. The previous post is here.

1. I wanted to exercise more. I was hoping to get to it by fitting it in during lunch at work. I also wanted to do the plank challenge for a full month. I did bump up the exercise, and found a new running partner at work, which helped. But then I got pregnant haha. I will say I continued to exercise at work to some consistency, but still find it very hard to fit in outside of work. I'm sure it's going to be even harder with two kids.

2. I wanted to put more of a focus on my family to get a better work/life balance. I did the best that I could, personally, but there were work factors, etc. that I just couldn't control. However, I'm still working on this for 2015 so we'll see.

Resolutions for 2015
1. I would like to accept my postpartum body better this time, understanding it has been through a lot and brought another amazing baby and son into the world.

2. I would like to breast feed my second son and make sure both sons get the attention and love they need. This one will need some help from Dave though and so far he and I have been a great team with Neil.

3. I would like to try to be more patient with Neil (and our next son) but also understand I'm not perfect and to just keep trying the hardest I can.

4. Knowing that I will be breast feeding, I'd like to start to exercise but not to the point of affecting my supply. I wanted to do a month plank challenge in 2014; I'm going to make that a goal again in 2015. Once I got pregnant there was no way I was doing that.

  1. you put the wrong year for your 2015 resolutions.

I will have to say that I still can't sleep through the night unless I pump at night. It's the worst. I have no idea how I'm going to wean when I always want her to be nursing. I almost always have her nurse in the mornings before I go on a run or it hurts. How is this possible. I still have 200+ oz in the freezer too. Sorry this was all about me.

I think you did great with exercise. You did slack on that plank challenge and I even did it! I think I did it 2 months after Ella or was it 3. or maybe it was 4. Oi I can't remember. But there is still time and I'll do it with you whatever month you try to do it in 2015.

Also I made up a challenge last May to do 30 squats every other day. I kind of slacked. Sometimes I held Ella and sometimes not. You could do something like that now even. Like it or the same. You could do a wall squat and hold it or do wall squats so you are sure your form is ok. And at least squats are quick :)

I can help you with exercise. We can motivate each other. I miss our talks on runs. But quick emails can probably be better than nothing. Right now I lack the accountability talking to anyone else.

  2. Thanks, I fixed the year! Can you tell I copied and pasted from last year? ;)

Ok sometime this summer let's do the plank challenge. My ab muscles are so weak in general. And I'm nervous about recovery this time because I'm older and haven't been exercising as much. I was doing better (than my pregnancy with Neil) until about early December and then I really started slacking off- I can feel it.

Yes let's motivate each other! I miss our talks as well.
