Anyway, so this was our last Penguins game. We took Neil. Start time was at 12:30pm, which is also when he usually starts his nap. He napped in the car on the way. Then pre-game we let him run around in the kids area. We got him food hoping that would keep him occupied in the seats for the 1st period (knowing being tired would make him more cranky and touchy). He had a hot dog and popcorn for the first time. That did work to some extent, plus he seemed really tired and was leaning on me a lot of the 1st period. We spend the break and 2nd period in the kids area again, and went back to our seats for the 3rd period. The people next to us had left so Neil was able to sit in his own seat and he repeated some of what was shouted including "Get the puck" and "Shoot it". He was definitely tired though and after some fussiness fell asleep in the car after we left.

Penguins game
We went to our final Penguins game (for the foreseen future anyways) and were able to take Neil because it was a day game. I was feeling very sentimental and am having a hard time with the fact that we are leaving this area. It's for a good reason and maybe pregnancy hormones play in as well but I am definitely feeling a lot of emotions.

Awww this is so sweet. I love the family pictures. Neil will be playing hockey before you know it!
ReplyDeleteHaha we'll see! Just the other day Dave said something and he threw out his arms to play goalie. I was kinda surprised. I don't have any athletic ability though so he's doomed if he ends up like me.
DeleteSo why is Neil spelled Neal on his shirt? Cute pics!
ReplyDeleteDave replied on that. That's not a custom jersey, it's a former player jersey. It is really weird to be calling him Neil and realizing that's the name on the back. People probably assume we spell his name Neal. (Some people do.)
DeleteJames Neal was a player up until this season (he was traded before this season started). We thought it would be neat to get him that jersey with that name in it, even though it's spelled differently. We were even able to meet James Neal shortly after Neil was born, and got a different jersey autographed.
ReplyDeleteHe was a trooper going at his nap time. I love all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he was a trooper! Somewhat cranky but better than I thought it was going to be. :) Thank goodness.
