I figured I would put in some pregnancy related links that I've liked so far.
This is someone describing each week in her own words and experiences. She compares it to her first pregnancy (the blog is about her second).
This shows pictures of the baby during the first trimester. It can be a little confusing because it counts days past ovulation, which is about 2 weeks off how they measure pregnancies (which is weeks after last menstruation- it's easier to pinpoint that date than ovulation).
This is a day by day calendar that gives what is happening each day. Development can vary but I love seeing little things about how the baby is developing each day.
I'll add my favorite links to future posts as I find more.
I'm so excited that we were able to see the heartbeat. I'm still floating on cloud 9 after that. I know I won't be able to tell I'm pregnant for a bit yet but this is keeping me going right now.
My cat is getting a little weird. It's just enough that it makes me wonder if it's from being pregnant. One day she jumped up on my lap, settled her head on my stomach, and just purred. It was to the point that her butt was pretty much hanging off the couch since her head was on my stomach. I would have taken a picture but at the angle I would have taken it from, it wouldn't have shown up very well. But it was funny.
Here is a picture of her later after she got a little more comfortable (i.e. her butt was not hanging off the end of the couch). You can't tell but she's still sprawled around my stomach.
How many weeks: 8
Size of baby: 12mm, Raspberry
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am the same as I was last week, down 1.5 pounds.
Maternity Clothes: Nope not yet. I look in the mirror to see if I can see any bump but not yet. No bloat, either.
Sleep: I'm still peeing in the middle of the night- some nights just once, other nights four times. It's crazy! Other than that, I'm sleeping pretty well. I am getting tired more easily but it's not really that extreme. I spent Saturday pretty much sitting on the couch, though, and after a late practice Monday night (and standing in a really hot room to play) I was exhausted on Tuesday. It was so tempting to call off work and just sleep.
What I miss: Beer! :)
Cravings: Not really anything
Aversions: Same things. Beef, chicken, eggs...
Symptoms: I'm breaking out a lot more and that seems to have just picked up this past week. I still tend to get light headed easily, and I am getting tired more easily. No nausea to go with food aversions, and the cramping has gone down a little bit.
Best moment this week: Starting to tell some friends and family, and staring at the picture. I keep describing it as a gummy bear. Cute little baby, I love you so much already!
Looking forward to: I want this week to fly by so we can have our first appointment on July 2nd! (Which will be getting close to 10 weeks.)

I remember with Sabra I couldn't eat bread or crackers. It felt like eating soggy bread and made my stomach upset. I think that lasted most of the pregnancy and even now I have a really difficult time eating soggy bread and it's been almost 14 years! Wow, has it really been that long?!
ReplyDeleteBlech, soggy bread?! ;)
DeleteYour cat! I don't remember seeing a picture of your cat before.
ReplyDeleteHmm I'm pretty sure I've included her in pictures on here before but not often. ;) If she's funny with this pregnancy there will be more pictures. Nothing in my scheduled posts so far (I'm drafting 15 weeks right now.)
DeleteI had a chicken aversion with Chloe but only in the first trimester. I love chicken so much and I couldnt even think about it anymore. Not even from chickfila and I am obsessed with their nuggets. LOL. At some point in my 2nd trimester tho, I started craving ChickFila again and I had Greg bring it home and I was able to eat it. So I slowly brought chicken back. lol. Kal and this one.
ReplyDeleteI seem to be able to handle greasy burgers now (like fast food stuff) but nothing from the grill. I feel bad because Dave keeps offering to grill out and I keep saying no thanks.
DeleteI hope it keeps getting better! I spit out Chick-Fil-A in the restaurant once because it tasted so bad to me. Poor Dave. I'm pretty sure I said that in one of the (later) weekly posts. I had been hoping I could stomach it again.
My eyes teared up when you said you love the baby so much already! I'm so excited for you!
